TMB reports strong trade finance growth

TMB Bank has recorded healthy expansion of trade finance business and fee-based income, thanks to continued expansion of Thai exports.The bank’s chief wholesale officer, Piti Tantakasem, said TMB’s trade finance value had increased from around 10 billion baht per month three years ago to 70-80 billion now due to robust export growth. Asian and African development banks sign trade finance deal

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) have signed a trade finance agreement to help the latter set up a trade finance programme to boost African trade. AfDB is looking to expand its trade finance activities to support companies across Africa, similar to ADB’s trade finance programme in developing countries in Asia.
